I hit several areas today and most were a bust but I did hit one good yard.
My first hit was an 1821 half reale! This is what I dream about since i usally go home with a bag full of pull tabs.
I thought every dig after would be colonial goodness but not so much. My last spanish silver was dug at an old site in South Carolina in 2011.
I also found my first shield nickle(can't see the date), a 1906 indian head and a sterling thimble which I love.
Still have a few days of vacation left so I hope to have more luck. :icon_thumleft:

That's a nice old one!, congrats man

Congratulation of the awesome finds and welcome to the reale club!

one heck of a hunt, congrats. I have to admit that I really like them all, the silver thimble is very cool too. the Spanish coins always have me thinking of pirates and movies like Mr Jack Sparrow's just make it stronger. congrats

Awesome finds

I like all those finds. Looks like you found a great spot to vacation! Lol HH

Great Spanish silver, thimble ect. Sounds like a well deserved vacation with some great souvaneers/memories to go back with you.. Have fun!!!!!!

Damn those are nice. If you want to lighten that Spanish just a bit a quick lemon juice bath will do so. I use a very soft toothbrush and gently work the coin in the lemon juice. But that's pretty damn nice looking the way it is. I love the dark toning and always try to keep it and just lighten the details a bit so they pop. Congrats on a really nice accomplishment

This is a decent example of the appearance I'm trying to get. But yours isn't quite this dark.

Very nice late Spanish. I have the same year, no worse for the wear. Congratulations!

Mine had the dark tarnish to it, but I used the baking soda/foil technique. Of course the first thing I try is lemon juice as Ahab suggested, but some tarnishes hold-fast in the citric acid. Anyhow, great silver after a long drought! Big congrats

Wonderful finds! Reales are very rare and very special. I'm guessing you still have a big ole grin on your face. Congratulations!

I have yet to find sterling thimble... so that one looks really sweet to me.

Congrats on the Spanish too.

I had one on my bucket list for a long time also. My main wish list finds are a gold coin and a seal matrix.

Congrats on the Spanish silver and thimble, the toning on the 1821 is really different. It looks so even I would be torn wether to clean it up or leave it as is.

Where was it minted? New World? 1821 was a very important year in Spanish colonial history.

And nice finds, by the way. I'd give an arm for some Arizona-found Spanish treasure.
