So since it was warmer today I decided to go out and see if I could find anything, stopped at this house that I thought was abandoned searched for a while found some clad and then this crazy looking guy came outside and asked me if I knew that this is private property.. I told him I thought the place was abandoned and that I was sorry for being on the property, he said it was fine that he was just remodeling the place anyways and granted me permission to search the property :-) ended up finding about $5 in clad 2 old locks " 1 being a B & O railroad company lock" and found my first silver quarter a 1929 s Standing Liberty... I was extra excited! And he told me he had another place I could cheak... this was my first residential hunt :-)

Hi, I also am in indiana and I must say you are braver than I to be out in this weather. My first year hunting I would a been out to(addiction) has worn off a little and I figure if its in the ground now it will be there in the spring. That is unless some bountyhunter finds it,lol. Great find keep up the good work, it gives the rest of us hope. I have yet to find a really old coin, soon tho. Happy hunting and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome quarter. Six years for me and not even a silver Washington, so I'm jealous.

NICE....hard to find...dated Standing Liberty Quarter.....Old "unhunted" homes are the best places to find older silver coins....Keep up the good Job!!

HH to ALL

That's a very nice find BHG ! I've been detecting for nine years and found several Washington silver quarters , but I have yet to find a
Standing Liberty quarter -( and yours has a date too!) - Their are way more Barber quarters found than SLQ's - since they only ran them
1916- 1930 . Keep up the good silver finds !

I started detecting in 1982 and I have never found one. Solid Jackson!

Nice SLQ. Hard to find 'em with a date. Always get permission. Someone owns every property, abandoned or not.

Cheers,

Buck

Congrats on the SLQ!! Absolutely my favorite coin and an uncommon find, especially with a date. Been lucky enough to find 17 and only 3 no dates.

HH and Continued success to you!

Great looking SLQ with a date!
