First silver of the year and it's a beauty!

Can't complain about finding my best ring ever with gold and diamonds in January and my first gold of the year, now February starts out with my first silver of the year as another great one.
I went to a site I have hunted many times with other detectors and larger coils and found 5 silver rings so far.
Yesterday I went back with the F2 and the sniper coil this time looking for my first silver of 2013.
I was gonna dig all the high tones for sure, but I learned my lesson digging some weird low tones that turned out to be gold rings so I just have to dig those too.
Maybe the 4th signal I came across was a pretty solid 28-30 on the F2, usually trash but in this business you never know so I opened a small hole and saw the end of a chain down there.
Looked thick so I grabbed it and started pulling and slowly inch by inch this thing emerged.

20 inches in length, 28 grams in weight, not the silver ring I was looking for but I'm not sad...it's better!
Last year was my best year ever in this hobby, and this year is starting out with a bang!

Man I love this hobby!

Congrats digger. Thats a nice chain.

Wow that's a awesome find! Congrats!!!

Nice silver!

Was this before or after the class ring and tiffany bracelet? Man what a way to start your year. Mine started with breaking my ankle trying to hunt nuggets.

Man that's terrible. Hopefully next ankle you break will be rolling a 150# nugget to your car. Hope they didn't fill your ankle with metal, it would be like detecting wearing a steel toe boot :)

No metal/surgery. Best break to have. If that's possible. It was lower part of small leg bone that holds ball for foot. That part popped off not too far. So they let it be.
I did find a quartz/granite egg shaped rock that had small gold specks in it. My detector was signaling on it so I took it. Just don't know if it's the magnetite in it or possibly gold nugget buried in it. I'm undecided about breaking it up or making it into a polished rock. Think it'd look cool. Then again. If there's gold in there. It might make breaking my ankle worth it. Lol. I'd post a pick but it's in the garage. Maybe in a couple days.
