First silver of 08....a HALF!

Hey guys, we went out to the Iceberg the other day for our first 08 hunt, not expecting a whole lot. I decided to try an area that Dan had had some luck in earlier, but the area hadnt been covered much at all due to very thick growth. Figured I'd take advantage of the receding growth being winter and all...so I wandered around, trying to lean against branches to make room for me and the detector that was I was attempting to swing when I got this sweet signal...oh sure, a half dollar, right. But so I dig, and couldn't believe when I actually saw the reeded edge of the 43 walker. So then we hit the wheatfield and wandered around some more, and I ended up with a 64 dime. Pretty nice unnexpected luck.

Some nice finds! I've been taking loppers out with me to clear brushy areas; it's amazing how much easier it is to detect when a little of mother nature is cleared away. To this point, however, it hasn't paid off as I'd hoped. .
