Got out on Saturday with my oldest son on his first offical relic hunt and we had a blast. We hunted from 0900-1800 and he was a trooper, as it was cold with snow flurries and wind. We headed up to a spot in Hanover County with my good friend and fellow Mid Alantic Relic & Coin Hunter digger, Harvey. We started out along the road and got into several pockets of bullets. My sons very first bullet ever was a .54 Carbine 1861 pattern. I thought it was a cleaner bullet in the field until we got home and inspected things closer. He ended up digging 10 bullets but gave one to his grandpa, a nice flat button, a pocket watch key, and a handful of camp lead droppings. He used my T2 SE and tho difficult for him, he managed one heck of a day for his first relic hunt. I managed a decent day with my E-trac and scored over 20 bullets, 2 J-Hooks, couple of nice revolver bullets, and a pound of camp lead myself. Harery scored a very nice rossete, 15 bullets and lots of camp lead also. Enjoy the photos and the video will be on youtube under Wes-N-VA. Thanks and HH to all!
