Just wanted to say Hi guys. I've been reading for a while and hunting for a few weeks and thought I would post my finds so far.
I've gotten 2 boxes a week for the last three weeks. In my first box I got a Walking Liberty ender, so it was a good start! In total I have gotten 1-Walking liberty, 1-Franklin, 2-90% Kennedy's and 17-40% Kennedy's and 3 gold plated 1980 Kennedy's that were also stamped with 1960/1980. I've found online somewhere that some company did these as a commemorative?
So far I'm pretty pleased with that. 4-90%, 17-40%
My problem is going to be dumping them and I have $2000 more coming next week! I do not have banks around here with free coin machines. My local credit union is the only one that I know of and they still charge 3% for members and they refused to even order me halves! I send a letter to the board and pulled over $25K out of my savings account there and transferred it to a different bank. Really ticked me off after all the business I give them. I think I'm going to start by trying to dump as much as possible on them for not getting me any. They have 4 branches and I'll be dumping all I can at every one of them. I have started putting them into circulation too.
As a side note, I'm a 32 y/o mechanical & aerospace engineer and a 'field engineer'. So, I do a LOT of travel, a road warrior which will give me exposure to a lot of different areas and banks in the middle of no where because I work 90% of the time at coal fired power plants and you can imagine where they put most of those! I do at least 200+ nights a year on the road. I've started spending them on my expenses while I travel. For food, tolls, some gas etc. I go through a LOT of money traveling and definitely gives me a better opportunity to dump them into circulation than most people would have, get reimburse for it and get them out of my area haha. WHY didn't I think of this a few years ago? I just thought of doing this a couple months ago and then started looking online to see if anyone else ever does this lol. Boy was I surprised to see how much of this is going on! I can assure you that the average person does not think anything about doing this and would think most of us are crazy I'm sure. That's ok though, the less the better
My wife even loves going through them with me when I get home, what more could you ask for
