UPDATED PICS. Thanks for the advice!

I found a 1900 barer quarter. I'm proud to have some silver under my belt. Found near a late 1800's one room school house. This is my first post on here. Looking forward to many more. Also, I need some tips on how to photograph coins appropriately. I have a 7.2 mp camera but it's horrible on things up close. Focusing is a major issue. Cheers.

Nice find there, still waiting to find my first silver. Wish I could help with the picture taking, I have the same problem when trying to get up close pics of small objects. Everything turns out blurry.

Congrats on the great find..The Ace can do it. On your cam, it should have a macro as stated above..mine is a little flower. This should put you in the macro mode for closeups. BTW, Welcome to TNet and will be looking for more posts.

Very nice for a first silver!! Do what you can with the macro. Thats my secret.
ATA - BOY on the first!! 8)

The macro mode has a symbol that looks like a flower. Should be near the area that controls the flash.

Welcome! Now that you have our first silver the rest is cake! Good luck and keep digging!

Congrats on finding your first Barber quarter...always a sweet to see that eagle coming out of the ground!!

Aside from setting it on the Flower Macro you can also try not getting so close to what your taking a picture of, try backing up a little. Also make sure your holding real still when it takes the picture.

Awesome find, Can't wait for my first !

Keep @ it and HH!!

now thats a great first post :o excellent find

Congrats!!! and on the camera issue. I have a 7.2 as well. The macro mode works well, u should also be able to slightly hold the button down. It will automatically focus for you. If you push too hard it will take the picture. It is sensitive so it might take a few times to get the hang of it. Just press gently. Although when I tried to upload my pics they were to large. If you take them to paint and shrink them, save them and then upload them, this should make for a great picture.

Hi Ty

Great Find

Place your finds on the kitchen table and stand up next too them
then point your camera down and take your photo's, let your camera
do it's job w/ the digital & optical zoom feature of your camera

Here's a photo that i took in the method specified above

Fantastic Find!!! Congrats, The ACE 250 will bring you many great finds. It is a Awesome Detector. I agree with everyone who said to use the Macro mode on your camera. I also agree with just slightly push the button, in the Macro mode it will focus very well that way. Also don't use any Flash!!! Good Luck, take some pics and send them to us. We would all love to see what that quarter really looks like, trying the Macro mode.

Welcome to Treasure Net.

Happy Hunting, Ringfinder

P.S.
I'm including a picture that I took this year of some of my finds for one day. I took 7 different pictures of these items to get this picture. I also downsized the picture from 2485 KB to 143Kb's. Lot easier to post.
