Hi! I'm new and just started doing this, don't even have my own metal detector yet lol Just wanted to post a pic of what I found in my yard if I can...

It was about 2 inches deep. I have owned the house a few years, and don't recognize this. It has a pin on the back but no pin latch, so I'm also glad I found it and my kids didn't stick their feet with it!!!

eta... now that I see the pic, I realize there's nothing to show scale. This is about 2 inches long.

Kool Pin!Welcome to Tnet!

Cool little horn, lots of detail if you didn't say it was a pin I would have thought you had found a real trumpet. If you found this with naked eye, just imagine what you would find with a metal detector. Good Luck!

oh, I found it with a borrowed metal detector I mean. I still need lessons on how to use it though, but today I found a couple pop tabs and other pieces of scrap metal. Fun!

I bet it belonged to Louis Armstrong. Was there a white handkerchief close by? :dontknow: Nice find

Nice find & a great hobby HH

Nice find! I bet it is an old band pin, probably a high school band member. Might be real gold or silver if old! Does it have any markings on it?
