First Large cent of the year. and button to boot (update button back)

Today was the first real cold day of the winter but what the heck I had time after work so off I went..I thought I would leave the funeral home site for the weekend with some friends so I went to an old park and into the woods I went. deep deep in....anyway got to a spot with some rocks around and said "looks like a good spot" turned on my machine, balanced it put it on the ground and got a hit. Dug the button says Texas on it,. (If anyone has an Id that would be great),

Next in between digging shell casings I moved up near a tree that looked inviting and got a strong signal out pop's that 1853 Largie...Its got some corrosion but it has megga detail, even full liberty.. then as a bonus on my way to the car in the park Got the silver rossi... It was a happy day indeed....

Okay, I'm confused. There was no 1863 Large cent, and I can't say for sure what I'm seeing in the picture, datewise. Nevertheless, a nice find!

Wow, the explosive young man with that wicked wand of his strikes again! Man, ain't it kool when circumstances change so we as good hunters, have to change and step into the more woody ares of our urban fringes and corridors, and discover plenty of booty lost many years prior to our arrival, just there, just then? 8) Ya know, I've had the hair on my bony arms stand straight up while pullin' an old silver dime from a place much like you've described here. It's like, you step right back into that time or something.

Being adaptable as you seem to be, has most certainly added towards your list of skills that lead to these cool treasures you've been unearthing. Uhh,,, I hope I'm not wrong but that may be a texas revolution war button Please keep at the I.D. that may be a rare one I hope we get a i.d soon my partner has a button book but he is not a internet user it will likley be a week till I get to see the book I will try to remember

The button is a Texas Confederate button if Im not mistaken. If it is thats not the find of the day but a find of a lifetime. If it is what I think it is its worth big$$$$$$$. You need to check it out close. Very close.

Awesome finds...Congrats!!!!! LOVE that button...am no button expert but that is the first like it I've seen...hope it turns out to be a rare and valuable one for you...get back to that site and really cover it good...great intuition on going there to begin with....WTG!!!
