Happy new year guys....Walking ONE line through this field today I pulled an 1845 French 10 cent which is very thick almost like a cartwheel Cent....very cool good shape ...in the same hole upon further inspection came a draped Bust largie, the date TBD....finally at the end of the line came this giant cut coin ! Would love some help on the ID....has a big 20 on the back (or front) could it be a Portuguese reis? Sorry if the pics come up rotated still have not figured out why that happens...thanks in advance!

Looks like you have a great site there, congrats on your recoveries. Should you choose to clean them I'll bet they clean up nicely. Your French Colonies 10 centime may be an 1843. The last year they made that design was apparently 1844.

Congratualtions on the old coppers finds! :occasion14:

It automatically rotates because you have your camera/phone on its side.

Love the coppers. I found a silver Louis Philippe coin recently. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1483452673.462901.jpg

Congrats on a day of coppers!!

Thanks gents ... also figured out the cut coin is a Portuguese Brazilian counter stamped 20 Reis cica 1820's

congrats on the finds!

Congrats. Your island has significant Azorean Portuguese history. My great grandparents immigrated from the Azores to MV. I live in PA now, but my mother and many relatives still live mostly in VH now. Looking forward to my next visit and maybe some MD on the island unless you find it all first...

Cool coppers. Wish the soil in the site I'm hitting up was so kind! [emoji106]
