Nice finds releventchair! As far as the ring - heck, I thought it was a carrot you pulled out of the ground at first.

U guys would never make it in the wild. That's dandelion, edible root and greens. Till about first or second week in April when it goes bitter. I see the ring.

Thanks all. Washed it up. Another junker. inside missing plating in a few places. No marks. Rang up between pulltab and copper cent, with a bounce till it read cent. Was digging any thing above foil.
