also got a very nice roman silver which crusader will post a better pic of later, along with another seven roman coins!

the hammered is elizabeth 1st
i had a chewed up/off token from the 17th century
and a 1717 farthing(cant remember the type)

the silver roman is from 119ad :icon_scratch: i think

Hey Shaun! Finally found your post, after looking through bout 100 other ones since I left on Friday! Great finds, your roman silver is just a great coin, very good quality. AND finally a hammered! Before you know it you will be finding more hammered than Cru! (that is after you get your Cortes). Did you borrow one again? And you found a bunch of roman bronze coins too, also a somewhat larger roman, what is it? And what is the square thing (Hanger)....? Really congratulations on a great hunt! (and thanks to Cru for taking you, OR better said YOU taking him!).

1717 'dump' halfpenny, I think.

The box seal is a rare find, much rare than brooches

Black is unusual, maybe its dis-coloured, red & yellow is more likely

Leave it as is. But that Wax I mentioned would be good for it.

I don't know if I could ever put that silver down. You and the person that touched that last has a connection. What was that person doing, where was he going? OK I know I am crazy. Congrats on you finds.

Definitely DON'T clean it other then just washing with water (maybe a little soap) and then let it dry completely. Then use microcrystal wax if you have or can get it. I would never clean that sort of find, if you do you will destroy any value it has.

Shaun, congratulations with the box seal, its a top find. I thought so the first glance that I saw it. Those are the finds I am looking for nowadays, coins don't really do it for me, or it has to be an hammered or other silver/gold coin. You are becoming a good detectorist. When you have the cash for a Cortes let me know, I can look around here and in USA for you!
