that half was a hot one sheriff wayne

neat burnt half!!!!!! MR TUFF

Congrats on the first half, but it sure gives new meaning to "melt value" :tongue3:

Hey Artzstuff1, I dont think it is 90 percent silver, it could be a 40%'r but you can see in the photo where it boiled off the copper cladding. You didnt show the date side of the coin or we might know for sure. But its still worth more than fiftee cents!

Thanks for the reply ,,Its for sure a walking liberty half you can tell that,,,, but it sure got hot!!!

The obverse of the coin is all bubbled up ,,, but I can read part of the reverse,,,it's a walker.

I wonder if it was something electrical that did that. And I think it probably was later than a 64'.

Counterfeit ?? I have never seen 1 peel before ?? almosted like it was plated !! MaineRelic

One thing for sure silver is silver no matter how you find it....Matt

Still a neat find, how did it ring up?

now that I think about it I have found items that were just under a bed of coals (ash) and they looked very similar to that... so I bet someone made a fire over that spot.
