I bought a brand new Minelab Equinox 900 at a pawnshop last month ($600) and I finally got to try it out in a drained canal, close to and under a bridge. First signal I dug was a 14K man’s wedding band. After that I got quite a few coins, but there’s a lot of trash in the canal. 7.6 grams of gold, not bad. I think this qualifies as shallow water because I had to wear my rubber boots because of water from snow melting. Thanks for taking a look!

Good snag. Funny, similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago - first target was a Tungsten band and the rest of the 3 hr hunt coins and bunch of junk. Yours sounds better. lol

Congratulations on your first gold with the detector.
You've got 1/2 of it paid for, well done.

Yes, Midwest Refineries pays 95% on karat gold…I’ve sent them a good amount of detected gold in the past, last time I got a check for nearly 8 grand

Congratulations on your great accomplishment
Very nice

Nice way to start with a new machine. First hunt, first target (gold ring), it could be a good "karma" kind of thing? It happened to me one time, first hunt, first target a 14k gold ring, with a Nokta "Legend". I both, the Legend & EQ 900, like em' both. Great find there niffler...
