Got out 'n about for 8 hours or so this past Wednesday. Headed to my spot as usual. Dug the huge sterling bracelet in the first hour, then it was pretty slow for a while until I hit the '54 Roosie (silver coin no. 26 for me). A short while after that, I got a standard nickel/pull tab signal at about 2 inches down. I prepared to dig YET ANOTHER Jefferson nickel or chunk of can slaw. Imagine my surprise when up pops a 14k ring!! I was afraid it was fake at first, though it looked like the real deal. Confirmed it yesterday when I sold it to my scrapper. It was, in fact, the real deal!! YAY!! This is my first gold item this year, and the third gold ring to be found @ this spot (two 14k and one plated).
Wednesdays totals: 14k Jesus ring, large sterling bracelet, '54 Roosie, aquamarine colored marble. Not pictured: 8 wheats (a '26 and the rest were all '40s-'50s), a bullet, and about $6 in clad (including a whopping 30 Jefferson nickels).
FOR THE NEWBIES: It's not always this glamorous. I dug well over 100 nickel signals on Wednesday, including a boatload of pull tabs, beaver tails, can slaw, foil, and other misc. junk, in addition to a whopping 30 Jefferson nickels, all to get the 14k ring. You will need to dig A TON of junk to find something this good, and please understand that 99.9% of your nickel signals will be junk or ordinary run-of-the-mill Jefferson nickels. However, on the rare occasion that you DO find something this good/valuable, it certainly makes the effort you put into digging all that junk worthwhile!!
Pics are below. Enjoy!!
