Alright so last night I was watching National Treasure 2 which is a great movie! I got the itch to do some detecting for friday. After going to the gym 10:15am-11:15am. I then headed home and got 2 dollars for a burger at McDonalds and also got my Minelab Explorer SE and my digging tools. I zoomed down to Issaquah where I hunted the Veteran's Memorial field again. I was so pumped to find some treasure after watching that movie last night!
My first hour went by quick as I was recovering penny after penny. But one thing I noticed is the Minelab Explorer SE felt like going deep today. Even though there were no wheat pennies; all of the pennies that i got were from 1975-1990. I was surprised that someone went to all the trouble burrying all of the pennies down 5-6 inches. Now a lot of you who go for the older coins think that 5-6 inches is not deep at all. But to me it is...Considering that I am used to the 3-4 inches coins.
In my third hour I was so happy because I got a signal that went back from a penny to a quarter then to a nickel. I thought it was weird that it went all the way around the coin chart. But whatever I decided to dig it anyway! It turns out that when I got 5-6 inches down...I got a full set of someones keys from a long time ago! They have been there a long time because one of the keys is a security key for malls and buildings. At least that is my guess. I would like anyone to identify the date of these keys if they can.
Oh I also might add that I only hunted a portion of the field. Did not even make it to the halfway point. I am so pumped to go back there and hunt again to see what I can find! This field keeps popping up keepers! From keys to half dollars. I wonder what I will dig out of it next!
Here are my totals:
2 quarters
12 pennies
1 set of full keys
1 zipper
1 random thing
62 cents by the way. The picture says 63 cents. But i clearly went to fast counting. Also was a 3 hour hunt. 12pm-3pm.
