Ace 250, My eyes
Hello Everyone

My name is Glenn and I live in Atlanta GA. I'm 25 and been reading about treasure hunting the last week. I started with Indian Artifacts being my interest then and tried but thats pretty tough to find so I thought Metal detecting would be a little more interesting. I read a few reviews on some different metal detectors and within my budget chose the Ace 250... Alot of people say great things about once you tweak it and understand but after ten hours of using it I'm not so sure I'll ever get the hang of it. My adventure started on some beaches lake Allatoona in north GA after being there for an hour I notice the perfect rows of footprints and holes wow someone else had already worked the beach. Ofcoarse I didn't give up I kept on and my ace would beep and beep the Id tag would bounce around 5cent 25cent Iron then back to dime it was interesting but I dug everything as advised. even when I would lock on an object that said 25cent or dime it would be a pop tab and again and again.

I moved further out where I could see the previous explorer hadn't been and there it was lots of quarters dimes and nickels by the way every square foot seemed to beep Iron after digging lots of junk I discriminated Iron... I didn't turn of pop tabs in hopes of some jewelry fallen off a swimmer.
Here is what I found most of all the change came from here oldest being a nickel and quarter 1967 there is a row of 1960's on the bottom left.

Then I called a lady I knew at a forest preserve where a house was built in the mid to late 1800's there had been a railroad along a creek and a major road that had went through the property till 1906 when they moved it... I guess it would have only been traveled by wagons... Anyways wow I couldn't walk anywhere without the iron sound going off and ofcoarse the id would bounce everywhere then go back to iron I dug some interesting Items to large to carry around so I left them till tomorrow. Mostly really rusted items hunks of metal one piece of farming equip I think. Oh yea this was a cotton farm through the 1800's and early 1900s. To wrap this up I turned my preset to coin and still dug up iron the Ace 250 bounces everywhere. I wonder if it's the more expensive detectors that don't or why I only dug the poptabs on the beach when it showed and sounded like 25cents or even silver dollar...

I also found this token that says Alabama state tax commisioner on one side and L - - URY TAX TOKEN on the other it has a one on the right in left side anybody know if this is old or how old????? and is it silver or something??? It cleaned much easier than anything else OHYEA how am I supposed to clean I used water and a steel brush and scrubbed like crazy I don't know remember this is my first diggins

So if you read through this I have questions about why my machine goes all over the place is it the same way with the more expensive machines I couldn't enjoy myself at the property where the house was cause everything I dug up was chunk of junk is that common I must have dug up 30 or 40 junks of stuff??? I did find the token near the river area where the rail road was or in between the road and rail road.... I also need to know if discrimating really works or should I avoid this place due to the amount of junk cause I can't get a solid reading even at the lake it would bouce but only between dimes and quaters for quarters but the same is for pop tops sometimes. PLEASE HELP I NEED ADVICE???

I would just like to add that perhaps you need to reset your machine as well. Hold the power button in until it beeps twice. That should set it back to factory settings.

The other thing is do not scan too fast. Take your time and listen to the different sounds. You will get the hang of it sooner than you think.

Good Luck :)
