I haven't metal detected in about 20 years and had a Walmart special detector then and only found junk before it died on me. I searched and late 1800's house today 10/23/13 for about an hour before a storm ran me away. The first coin found was about 7in down and is a 1855 Napoleon III Empereur mint mark A. The second is a 1919 wheat about 4 in down. Today surly got me excited and can't wait to go back and spend more time at this site.

Congrats on the great finds with your new detector (that actually finds stuff) :-) that's a great first day out and now you're in trouble. You've officially been infected with the "disease" welcome to the club

Thanks Ahad8, your right on that one. Hope to get back out today after lunch and hunt some more. Thanks for looking. HH

So what kind of detector are you swinging now? Nice finds, you have to love it, you go out first time and hit such nice finds. Now go back there and do that exact same spot slower and lower and tighter. See if you come up with something you might of missed. It works for me, I have gone back several times and still find stuff.

First time out and finding what most of us dream about...Wow! Sounds like you and your detector are already working hand in hand. What type detector are you using?

Thanks rlc 1940, I'm using the AT pro.
