Well folks,

Good news. I've already equaled my big silver haul from last year...1!

I talked to some neighbors and hit their sidewalk strips. First find was part of an old cap gun so I was excited. Turns out it was a bust...mostly. I hunted and found a 59 penny, several early 60s pennies, but couldn't even find a wheat. After covering 98% of the ground I got an 82-83 at 3 inches. Not earth shattering but worth investigating. Boy was I surprised to see that 1954 silver quarter! Of my 24 silver coins last year only one was a quarter. That's got to be a good omen that my first silver coin of the year is a big one, right?

After finishing those strips I hit a strip in front of an apartment complex for a while where I found more clad and the silver cat ring!

All in all, a great way to start my birthday weekend. I've got two early 20th century permissions lined up for tomorrow morning and an old site I'm going to hit with my brother on Sunday. I'm excited to see what else the weekend holds!

Good luck and happy hunting!

Big congratulations on the nice silver finds! :occasion14:

Nice silver

sweet silver on both finds. pretty darn cool, congrats

Congrats on both of the silvers

Congrats on the shiny finds.

I like the cat ring, but don’t tell anyone said that. I like finding rings because they belonged to someone, as opposed being used as currency. Someone liked that enough to buy it, but it got away from them, and now it’s yours.

Hopefully more silver coins will appear shortly. Best of luck to you and Junior!

The quarter is, of course, cool. However, I really love the ring! Nice hunt!

Great saves, Washingtonian! I absolutely LUV digging those silver GW's, and that one is a beaut! The ring is a nice bonus, icing on the cake...Ddf.

Sounds like your ear is now keen to silver ! Good for you and thanx for sharing

Congrats on the silvers. At least someone can get out and find things!

Surprisingly this is actually a good time to get out in Seattle if your schedule is flexible and you can catch a rain break. Lots of rain to keep the ground soft and plugs green and not too many people outside to bother you!

Thanks DDF, it had been a long time since I dug my last GW. My last quarter was Canadian. Good luck to you!

I think the ring is cool too! I teased my girlfriend that she's getting this now instead of the engagement ring I bought. She wasn't thrilled [emoji23].

Thanks CT, we're just trying to take after your example! Good luck in your hunts this weekend.
