Found this at an 1804 sight today before I got rained out. Think it is a King George. RJ

Looks like a
"king George ii
British half penny"
1729-1754
Good find! [emoji2]

Congrats on the Kg bud

Great find!, hopefully many more to come

Nice ole copper:icon_thumright:

Would you soak it in olive oil, or do the hot peroxide?Looks like it's pretty toasted.

Nice old Copper.

Just leave it. You can make out some detail the way it is and you run the risk of losing that contrast if you try to "clean" it. That's a great first big copper!

I would leave it alone too. Nice job...

Could be some other nice goodies there yet. Is it a fairly new spot for you? I always like hitting a spot after a good rain. Hopefully the ground gets good and damp because it sometimes makes the silvers come out of hiding! [emoji2]

The place is where this lady's great grandfather and brother built when they came across the big pond. She said they were clock makers. The place there staying at is close to this place,it dates to about 1875 and I can only hunt it when there in from Raleigh, maybe a week or so. The only thing left of the structure is part of the chimney.

Congrats on your first big copper!!

Nice find RJ,
Congrats on your KG.
I may be crazy but it looks like 1734??

Sounds like sweet spots. Sometimes its good to only be able to go to some every once in a while or you'll wipe them out way too fast like i usually do! Haha
Hope you find some more goodies soon! [emoji2]

Great first big copper. Congrats!

Congratulations on the large copper, they are a favorite type of coin recovery.

Was telling my brother just the other day that I would like to join the 1800 club, and I still do. Lol
