I finally done it 1800's Silver,
Today I was detecting a permission site of 1900's old homestead. Have been finding lots of Wheaties, but yesterday I found 1900 IHP and today a 1898 Barber dime. I was using my XP Deus with thre sifter program.

Welcome to the 1898 Barber Dime club!
(Yes, it exists....)

Woo hoo!!! Yee HAW!

I found my first one this spring, and I can well remember the moment that I realized what I had. I've now got three, but that first one is the one that I will remember with the most excitement!

Nice looking Barber!!! Congrats on finding your first! HH

Some finds you will always remember, even if you don't think you will. This is one of them. As a "true" coin hunter, the objective is to usually get into the 1800s,unless you're way out East. That usually happens via an Indian. The next thing is an 1800s silver, and you have done that. To strive for a "next level" is what keeps this thing going for most everyone, whether it be coin counts, old date coins, gold coins, etc. If you already have a bucket list, you are a true coin hunter. As others have said, with what you've found now at that site the reasoning would be that there are more coins there. My advice would be to dig anything conductive to start out. Dig anything you might think is jar lid sized on any reading. And do it as thoroughly as possible. Old farms and houses can be really good or really bad,I've had both. It seems you're on the track of at least a decent one. Post back with further finds, the Barber is quite a nice find.

Great find and such beautiful condition, congratulations on your first! :occasion14:

May many more find your coil!
