But its only a merc. It is however my first silver with an S mint mark. Probably wont be hunting in there till fall now as the farmer just planted soybeans most likely. Nice to end it with a silver though. I also got the the 1960 dog tax tag across the street from the field. Im amassing quite the dog tag collection but this is my first with the chain still attached

Sweet hunt to end your hunts there for now, Congrats!!
Good year 1960 for the dog tag. Lol

Congrats on yet another silver out of that site. Cool dog tag too.

Love the finds toasted. Thank God it's soybeans. I hate to swing in corn stalks that are about 18 inches tall after harvest. S mint marks are also scarce in Ohio. The only ones I've dug are from the 40's, probably dropped by a soldiers on leave or returning from the Pacific theater or West coast.

Nice job on the Merc. Those dog tax tags are great finds in my mind also. Its ok to find them with the collar attached, just hope the dog still doesnt have the collar on him if it was underground !

Nice little dime you got there! Congratualtions! :occasion14:

Congrats on eeking out the last Merc before planting! I'm lucky to have a lot of hay fields around here and those are cut 3-4 times per growing season, allowing time to hunt in between. Found the oldest dog tag I ever found just last weekend in a freshly cut hay field - 1919!

Cool dog tag and collar . Hope the rest of the puppy wasn't there ;)
