Hey folks!

Got out for about an hour and a half today and scored my first silver of the year, a 1952 Rosie down about 5". I'll take it! :laughing7:

This makes my third silver since moving back to California. Found it in an old park that actually dates 50 years older than the coin itself. Also got two wheaties, a '52 and '58. The latter wheatie was down about 8".

Below the pic of the coins is the location where I found them, perhaps another 50-75 yards to the right of the edge of the photo. The old bridge still stands today but a more modern one has replaced it and is now situated just to the right, where you see the person diving.

To the left of this old bridge, and the side from which the photo was taken, is where I recently found the 1902 Barber dime, perhaps 200 yards to the left along the bank of the river.

HH!

Great Job!! I like resarch myself, but understand why some folks do not. This is proof of a great payoff!! Nice dime and pennies, Ray!! Great hunting and good luck! Regards, skypilot02

A bit of silver. A great way to start the year if you ask me.

Hey Ray. Welcome back to CA. And congrats on your rosie. That area along the bank looks like good hunting grounds. You should find more there.

Good luck!!

Good to see you back.

Congrats on your first of the year!

I'm hoping to score at least one this Jan. Haven't been able to get out yet, too cold.

Found some riverside silver this year, notice some hills in your pic, if there are
paths leading down the hills to the river, that'd be a place to look.

Good luck,
HH.

Thanks for the comments, folks!

Bandb1, the photo is a little deceptive. Those hills are a little further back from the bridge, about a half mile or three quarters mile away and all private property. Next time I'm out there I'll take a photo from the same vantage point so you folks can see how different things look today.

That bridge looks familiar, I have found at least a couple hundred silver coins in that park back in the 1970s probably more. If it's the same park, I won't say where, I once watched a friend dig in that park a 1850s shield nickel, a 3 cent peice, and a seated half dime all in one outing. My father used to swim there back in the 30s, and told me that was the thee place to hang out in the hot summers.

Great finds, glad to see that place is still producing good stuff. What type of detector are you using?
