I can't believe it. I was in my neighbors 50x60ft yard again tonight. I hunted for about an hour or so. I dug around 10 targets- 2 wheat cents 1930/1940, a large cent (1852 I think), a tool tag, and two mercs (1923 and 1942)!!!! I have spent hours and hours in this yard this summer. It is extremely small for the amount of things I have found. That's the 5th and 6th silver, probably 15 wheats, my first Indian, and that large cent plus a few tokens and an old nice pin so far this summer! It really speaks to paying your dues in the time spent learning your detector aspect. Also I pulled every piece of crap out of that yard so all I get now is old targets. I have to have dug over 125 targets out of this small yard. And while I know many on here will give me the "don't ruin the yard/our hobby post" I have full permission to treat the yard as my own, but I do take care of it including watering the plugs at the end of the night. I won't lie though part of the yard is crab grass and does not take well to being dug up. It takes this part a week or so to turn green again. Anyways, I run my AT pro on max sensitivity now since there's no junk. I love this hobby. HH!

Also has anyone found a lot of these tool tags? This is my 4th in the last few weeks.

Very cool

It's gotta be such a bummer that your first LC was that wrecked though!

a little bit, but I'm just happy I can see what it is! The house is 1895 and most the houses around me are the same age so finding a large cent 10 yards from my house was awesome. I actually found an 1818 LC that was in pretty good condition during a road tear out except I was 8 and was playing in the dirt without a detector so that doesn't count haha.

thank you. Yeah some guys pull 5-10 silver a hunt and I can't believe it. I'm happy with one silver a hunt, but the more the merrier!

Yeah, there isn't much you can do to dig a neat plug in crabgrass. It just falls apart. Great finds. Hope you get many more.

must be nice, congrats

Sorry to see the large hole in your copper, but congrats on finding that first Large Cent! I hope it's the first of many for you.

I've found serveral of those in Arkansas around the old coal mine towns. I got about twenty or so miners tags they used before going in the mine to let them know whose was in there in case of a collapse

that's what I heard. I also heard they could be used for taking tools. That way it holds you accountable. Either way I like to find them.

sorry to bump this thread but I wanted to show Etrac this tool tag I found today. I tried PMing but couldn't attach a pic on the app. It's the first one I found with writing on it. The funny thing is, is that Clairton (the town name) is spelled wrong. I would hate to be the guy in the mill that messed that up.

Nice tag! And looks like you found it right down the street from where I'm at (Baldwin)

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics
