For this pendant which I still need to find a silver cap, I cut out a natural knot from a manzanita branch then I dyed the wood with natural blackberrie and Raspberrie juice from squeezing them, two coats and dried in the world's largest oven, some call it Arizona. I used a non yellowing uv resistant epoxy/resin on the Stone's crystals. I What do you all think, pretty cool or not?

Very nice Steve,
are you going to use chain ? leather ? braided artificial sinew ? to hang it. Creative piece.

I'm not really sure yet, black leather would look good or I was gonna stick that tip in a silver cap or whatever they call what holds a pendant to a chain. I'm open to ideas if you have any?

Depending on how secure you think the stone is bound to the base I'd be thinking of a fob on a braided leather strap.il_340x270.1925718480_giwo.jpg

Lots of good options.....maybe the case for making multiple pieces. I see quite a bit of unwaxed braided artificial sinew used.It is cheap, strong as all get out and really looks the part when braided. Whatever you choose it will be cool simply because the pendant looks great.

I used epoxy so it should hold pretty well, I'll look into a fob with braided leather, thank you for the idea.
Steve.

I'll look into that as well, thanks dsrtdwg, I was also thinking black metal like black stainless steel I've seen it used a lot in jewelry lately.

If you don't want to drill or glue...maybe wire wrap it? Nice and unique piece of art! :icon_thumright:
