Sargent & Co. smokehouse padlock. While Sargent was around just before the CW.....this lock isn't. As far as a RR or strongbox lock....no also I'm afraid. These smokies are made of basically a thin gauge metal, no where near strong enough to do much else than keep honest people honest. Once in a while a lightweight lock will turn up as being marked as a RR lock, but not very often and was probably used in an office or warehouse lockup or some such. Sorry.
YW. This lock is obviously British. GR...George Rex would be the King. However, I don't collect foreign locks at all. Looks like he ruled until 1839.....hmmm. Seems a little early but maybe not. That design was around for a very long time. Sooooo....guess not much help here.
