Well. I am in the process of getting 500 pounds of coarse sand from the arkansas river here in arkansas. I talked to a man I know and he said he found flour gold panning sand above the water line. I picked up two buckets of fines and after talking to cousin that worked at the dredging company, he said all the heavies would be in coarse sand. My bad. So I have been looking at google earth going up the rivers close by looking for dredging operations and found 4 all within a 2 hour drive. So I hope this cuts out a lot of time in panning/sluicing out in the field. 85% of the black sands in the fine sand was -50. The separator they use drops heavy sands then fine sands the rest is flushed on out. 65% of blonde sand was -30 to +50. Around 20%-50 and 15% +30.
