You know how they say that finding a half dollar while metal detecting makes it a great day? It does!
I went to a local park to search the mulch play area to see if I could find anything. The regular ground is so dry that it's practically concrete, so I have been hunting these kinds of areas lately. Anyway, there was a big event there two days ago, so I figured I'd check at least the playground out. Glad I did! I came out with about $4 worth of clad, some a few inches deep, some of it barely covered by mulch and some (mostly the pennies) just sitting there in the open! After a while, I was just walking with my pinpointer on and when my ATPro chimed, I would scan the ground with the pinpointer, lock on the target and just pick it up.
Anyway, one target was big and loud, pegging the high end of the spectrum. I pinpointed it, brushed some mulch away and found a Kennedy half! It's clad, but oh well...it's a half.
Now I just need to scan the regular grounds...
