Hi all,
I have been enjoying this hobby for 5 years but I have been waiting patiently for a large silver. Well today it finally showed up and I couldn't be more excited. An 1859O half dollar! Ironically I skipped all of the newer big silver, including a Washington Quarter. It is odd I didn't find a Barber dime until I had found a bust half dime and seated half and full dimes. I also found this interesting button. I would appreciate any help identifying it. So far I can read Waterbury on the back. Thanks for looking and any help.
Charlie

Diggin,
you usually ask about VDI on the garrett forum. This one rang as a low zinc penny 72-73. Zincolns are about a 75 here, unless they are corroded. It had the nice AT coin tone with the blat of a zincoln. There was a fairly small piece of iron in the hole with it. I will experiment and see if that is what caused such a low reading.
