Finally - I quit moaning and groaning about not being able to get out and I took my garrett gti 1500 out in my own back yard and gave it a try. It wasn't easy with this air boot on but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I thought there might be some metal in the boot that would give me some trouble but it didn't. I had no trouble getting down on my knee to dig a target and I used my "digger" tool to lever myself back to a standing position. It wasn't bad at all. So I am going to start going out to some of my local parks to hunt. Not my favorite hunting but better than nothing and who knows what I might find. My hunt this morning was not very long (it started to rain) but I didn't do too bad at all. I didn't get my goal of 4 quarters but I did manage to find 3 quarters and several pieces of metal. Oh yes and a piece of copper wire about 6 inches long but bent up. No pictures today because I don't have my camera and you all know what quarters look like. OK so not real exciting for you gng's but for me..... it was a great hunt! I got 75 cents!

mumsie,
My mother and father used to live in the Spring Hill area, I am assuming you mean the one in Florida.

They actually lived closer to Mazarky Town (sp?).

My father started looking around the area one time and started finding sites of old grist mills along some creeks in the area. He actually retrieved 3 or 4 sets of mill stones from those sites. This would be 35 or more years ago.

Do some research on the area. You may just find a few old mill sites that would be a lot of fun to detect on.

Yeah Mumszie :wav:

So glad to hear you are finding a way to continue hunting. I'd miss your posts if I had to wait a couple months.

Can't wait to see your great park finds.

Jim
