Relic Hunting
So after almost a week of striking out everyday, I hit a field that was supposed to have camps from confederate soldiers. We hit this field earlier in the week and struck out but I guess we were not in the right place, I still cant say that we have found the camp but I did pull alot of relics. And there is broken glass and pottery everywhere, every 6" I got a signal with hundreds more in the field.

I got my 2nd Indian head penny today and it is an 1864 ;D got some buckle, harmonica reeds, lead, an old piece from what appears to be the inside of a pocket watch, an old spoon, and some more broken pieces of arrow heads. The items circled I have no idea on, I thought they may be sights of an old rifle but not sure :icon_scratch: any help on them would be app.

Got the front to a 2 piece eagle button, anyone have a date just by looking at the front :icon_scratch: and a button that says "BLUE BUCKLE"

And I found an INDIAN don't know what he is or what he was used for so I'm gonna post him in the what-is-its to. I plan on going back tomorrow if it don't rain, anyways thanks for looking and as always Happy Hunting ;D

Really nice finds. I'm just like you, if it doesn't rain. We got a dreancher today. I didn't make it either. Look at it this way, it makes digging easier, and the detector will pick better. Good luck on you next hunt.

Matt,
You hit the motherlode it looks like. ;D Congrats on the CW era 64' IH.
I see you found one of those round parasol pieces that always seem to pop up in the CW areas.
Maybe your Indian hood ornament is from an early Pontiac. :icon_scratch:
Way to go on the relics. Super day.

Thanks the soil down here isnt that bad and the field that I am hunting is mostly sand but it will make the machine detect better and I will be able to find more arrowheads ;D

The circled items are accordian reeds, you might be able to see the key they were made in on the pieces you have.
My find was the key of C.
Cool finds

They look like reeds to me. I'm pretty sure you would have seen these before though.

WOW!!I dug two of the same things you did last weekend!!The first is the brass square thing with the "X",on it,its half of a padlock. The other was four of the reed looking things you circled,I do not know what they are but I figured they were reeds from some type of musical instrument.?

You're absolutely correct on both the padlock, and the reeds are broken organ reeds. :)
