Well it finally happened the neighborhood park next to my house reopened.. New play structures... shade..... its very nice... It has been closed for the last six months.. and the neighborhood has been waiting...

Well it opened last week and the local crowds have been great...

I had a few moments to detect this evening... and since there is no deep silver in this part of town I thought id hit the wood chips...

And then I saw it... Environmentally friendly recycled ground cover…

It is BLUE--- kind of odd… Felt great under my feet… I thought to myself.. At least ill see the targets when I dig…

3 sweeps over the area – 4 targets… dime, nickel, quarter, and dollar.. I thought wow people sure must drop a lot of stuff as they bounce across this rubber surface.. .

SEE PICS BELOW…

Ah Ha ,you have the new used truck tire bits.

At least they didn't put down the rubberized matting like some of the new parks are doing.

I don't like the new rubber wood chips either, hard to dig... Good luck there....
Keep safe...

Boy, I hope they don't start using shredded tires in the parks in Michigan! I hate the parks with the rubber mats all over the place, very little room for digging & when someone drops something they don't have any trouble finding it. Went to one of them the other day and found very little.

On Monday I searched in this stuff for the first time. I almost walked away and decided what the heck. It is dirty but EASY! However, I did find blue metal in that mess too... must have been chewed up hubcaps!
