Finally squeezed one out - Bit o' silver

O.K. it's not much, but after the silver drought I've had lately this Merc was a welcome sight.
I was cruising around in the country and stopped at this 1905 house to see if I could detect it. The owner happened to be out power washing the deck. His main house was next door and they both sat on about 10 acres with barn, horses, etc.
Very nice guy, and he mentioned he had lost his gold 1936 class ring on the property about two years ago too. I've never found a class ring yet, so I would love to find it for him.
I detected around yard area of the 1905 house for a few houses and came up with a few tidbits. Not much, but it was fun.
The highlight of my day was when I was bent over digging a target in the front yard, and someone rode by and shouted something like "Owwwwww"!!! Unfortunately it was a guy!!! Oh well, it could have been worse I guess.

My finds were:
*1941 Merc
*1917 & 1945 wheats
*.925 silver ring
*Belt buckle
*Pin
*Mini Me's prison shank

I'll try harder next time.

Too bad you couldn't find his ring, that would surely put a feather in your cap. That looks like a nice little area to hunt and your finds were quite decent. I am sure you will visit him again.

Sure will. I'm going to try again this week. Finally supposed to get some decent 70's weather.
I would love to find that class ring. I could use a few more feathers.

I could see a spot in the front yard that used to have a large tree there long ago. I figured someone had to have been under that tree in the old days for shade, or at least I was hoping. Sure enough, that's where the Merc was.

Are you sure the catcall was a guy? Maybe it was Susan Boyles from TV. The ring is pretty cool. I see you found a cut piece (dime) I hope you find the classring.
