Finally.......My First WALKER !!!!!

Man, I thought this day would never come. I have been wanting to get one of these out of the dirt for a while, a LONG while. Got a great hit, thought it was a quarter, but when that chunk of dirt came out rimmed in silver I knew it was WAY too big to be a quarter. I also picked up the '05 dime in the same hunt these make coins # 44 & 45 out of the same site. I got the mercs at the site, too, but that was sat & sun(one each day). It feels so good to get this monkey off my back, now I don't have to cry when you guys dig 'em.

Here's a rookie type question: On the Walker there seems to be an "F" by the figure's head. Is that a mint mark? If so where was it minted? If not what does it mean?

She is a Beauty, also love the other silver you found. Looks like this site has a lot of promise.

Better go back and hit this site again, slow down and dig all those iffy signals.

As for Trusty's question, The F isn't a F, it is a E in the word Liberty . Mint marks can be found under
In God We Trust or on the back to the left of Half Dollar.

A good coin book to buy is Red Book a guide book of United States Coins.

It's funny how that works - find much older stuff but no Walker. Looks like a great hunt. Those Walkers are sweet. I usually only get one year. You got a "better" date also. Congratulations.
