The weather is finally getting warmer and the frost in the ground is gone. I had a day off and decided to go to my favorite Indian site. This site is a Seneca site when trade began with Europeans, fur trade era. I got there and fired up my machine and ten feet from the truck I pulled my first brass ketal point! They were traded items like copper and brass cooking pots. When they wore out, they made jewelry and other items. Next was a musket ball and then here come the chips, so many chips! You have to dig them all because they ring up the same as a Jesuit Ring! I also found my first copper tube bead and some red glass beads. The next hit was a really cool button with a flower on it! A while later came another matching button. Two in one day from the 1600’s! Amazing! After about 5 hours my shoulder was getting tired. I dug over 100 holes and hear are the results.
Remember — dig it all and take the trash!!
Happy Hunting!

Its really hard to spot those beads in a plowed field , there so small!

Looks like quite a haul! Those arrow points are great.

Yep, I am sure they are quite hard to find. Is the soil sandy by any chance? For everyone I spot on the surface or in the dirt coming out of a hole, I probably find 20 more by sifting.

I wish it was sandy but its more gravel and topsoil. I usually find then on my hands and knees while I'm digging a target. Once in awhile I'll spot a good one while walking!
