Got out for a short dig yesterday afternoon. Finally found my first tootsie car. Figured I would get in on the video phone myself ha ha. This wasn't exciting enough for me to blurt expletives but I really enjoyed finding it.

Here is an old iron buckle that I found at the bottom of a deep hole. There was about 4 inches from the bottom of the lesche handle to the top of the plug. I found this at a very well-known syllable war camp in Raleigh. Both sides used it to set up camp. Any ideas on what kind of buckle it could have been used for?

Thanks for stopping by and digging my digs :icon_thumright:

Hope everyone is have a good day! Have fun out there

Glad to see you got out. I can't help much on the buckle, but tootsie toys are my favorite toy to dig. I have 3 of the one you dug.

Thanks LD! This is only the second toy car I've dug since I have started metal detecting last August. I think I may have found me a sweet spot because this is the second old toy that I have found in the same general location. Hope you're out there finding some good treasures their boss thanks for the comment

I had that car when I was little! Congratz!

Congrats on a Nice car, they make a nice display. I bet you will dig many more.

I like the Tootsies myself, Especially with good paint & all 4 wheels attached.

I Wish they used Brass for the Axles. B/t That's Life.

Oh about forgot , I dug a similar buckle a couple years ago, except mine has a small hole near the pointed end & many saw like Teeth on the inner portion of the wide end.

Posted it on What -is it, a few (6) maybe months Back. Ill see if I got an ID.

Thanks for the comment davers! I'm going to clean that buckle up some and try to get some more detail out of it
