After exploring many fields in a new area if finally hit the roman villa site this evening just before dark! Annoyingly its still planted with savoy... I managed to squeeze the coil between the rows just to look if its plundered by nighthawks. I think i have luck with that! :hello2: Got some roman nails, bits and pieces and a beautiful infantry button. :icon_scratch:
Here are some pics for You!

Brick fragments all over the site.
Roof tiles
Pottery shards with the bottom of a mug
Roman nails

You found it Westfront :icon_sunny: I saw on your other post you were still trying to locate the Villa. Now lets see some roman coins, fibulas and other Roman relics from that site on your next post , Good Luck out there M.R.

Thanks MR! I hope You are not disappointed with my next post from this site.... Bad thing is that the savoy is not harvested before first freeze. I'm very happy with the results today. Shotgun shells, brass and casings will not been found in a hunted site.

Hi westfront ! :hello:
Some of the fragments of pottery are Romans, but has much work here.
Roman villas were extensive and perhaps you are not looking at the site of maximum concentration of finds, do not despair and keep looking around the area, if there are pottery are better things .
One of the ceramic fragments belonging to a Roman channeling water for rain, as I show here was when I was full and to be used.
During the useful life of pottery was a water channel but during the last years of the Roman Empire were used to cover the tombs of the poorest.

Thanks "H" Because of the location of the site and the coins we and others found in this area i think it could be an earlier settlement.
It took time to locate this one and most fields around are seeded again apart from this one with the pottery and the field aside, both with savoy...
I go back when harvested to have a look! :icon_thumleft:
