I went to a new place today, but as usual lately the ground was too hard to dig. Instead of giving up though, I decided to head to Ponchartrain Beach and see if I could get lucky there, and ended up with the best haul I've had so far.....

Totaled up in clad today...... $2.60

1959 rosie! first this year....

1944 jefferson

1935 Buffalo, it's there, barely......

3 wheats 47,53, and 57

A decent watch, I think it'll run with a battery,

and an old key.

Surprisingly I dug hardly any junk today, almost every target was a keeper.

Anyway here's some pics, hope you all had as good a day as I did!

That's a respectable bag of grabs for sure! Nice recoveries!

Great finds, looks like one fun day man! That watch is pretty cool, I never seen one like that. Keep on swingin! :headbang:

Silver Dimes are keeping me a happy hunter lately!
Congrats on your digs, Nice watch

Pretty distinctive watch. Nothing I've ever seen before. Have you looked on the back for a maker's name? Certainly seems to be in better shape than anything I've found.

Thanks River Rat, I barely scratched the surface there, and with the water as high as it is right now, there's a lot of beach I couldn't get to, Not to mention a whole lot of other ground out there. I'll keep at it though.

It is kind of a neat watch, and I'm sure it hadn't been there long. My heart kind of skipped a beat thinking "silver watch" but it's all stainless. A watch is a watch though, and it's the only complete one I've ever found. The brand name is "George" I hear they used to sell them at wal mart, so nothing too special but I'll take it. I'm gonna put a battery in it and see if it works.
