I found a cool old lighter some dog tags and bling and clad and this ring, Most of my rings I find on old wooded hills I took a pic of where I found it!!!. Anyway I found this ring rang up 42 on the AT PRO of course there is no markings cause the ring was refitted and you can see the solder marks. So I'm on the way to my Jeweler telling my wife how it was most likely gold cause it rang up a 42 and who would solder a junk ring. I get to my Jeweler and he holds it and instantly says nope its not gold he can tell by the weight he does some test and says its made of nickel, I'm not buying it so I'm furious at this point I hop the counter and I'm on him like a starving Grizzly bear on a BBQ double cheeseburger!!!! At this point store security is on their way as I got him in a headlock,Im throwing blow after blow 20170724_150349.jpg20170724_150235.jpg20170724_150137.jpg20170722_150253.jpg20170724_123944.jpg I tell him to say it so he says Uncle I said no say it!!! He says say what I said say 14 k " JUST KIDDIN I HAD TO VENT" thought I would make my post a little more interesting.. I thought it was funny anyway I was sure it was gold... Thanks for lookin... Don't worry Tommy! I have a great lawyer on retainer...I'll have u busted out before they can dig up those old warrants!! Lol...good stuff, I was like...W...T...F.......then u let us off the hook...Ddf
Thats hillarious before the holds pop up.... Scotty we are releasing you on your own recognance but I see Mantucket has a hold on you for another case. or you get processed out and as soon as your at the sallyport they rearrest you no bond for an fta. Your story is funnier than mine!!!!!!

Oh yeah, good medicine my friend. Love the suspense and intrigue. Was there any "medicine" capsules near that lighter case?:drunken_smilie: Love the sight you are working. Looks like the types of places I hunt as well. Slopes are my favorite spots as most either won't or can't hunt them very well. I am pretty agile and will go places sensible people won't. He hee. Love the Bobcat pic. It fit's right in here. You're filling your niche and I and many other's appreciate you for the individual you are and not that piece of crap FAKE RING you nearly got tossed in the brig for. I can tell it's fake just looking at it! Keep digging. Even the LOOSERS get lucky sometimes.:laughing7:

Enjoyed the story, had me going. That lighter is a Cool find!!:icon_thumleft:

That's not the Tommy I know... When I detect with him, he's quick to point out where all the good spots are!

Hope you know that drill from the sworn side :laughing7: AND! They always want to run! And the report reads. The prisoner was being escorted back into the sallyport with his shoes and property in his hands. The prisoner slipped in his stocking feet on the highly polished floor and in the process received multiple bruises and contusions about the head and shoulders. :dontknow:

Seriously, check out Lonnies in Phoenix or even fleabay and get yourself a test kit. They're only around $20 or so bucks. You can test yourself and know exactly what you got. I've noticed over the years how honest jewelers get when you pull your kit out. Or they don't want to do business with you = 100.1% crooked. Buy your stone & acids separate it'll be cheaper. The junky wood boxes in the kits fall apart. I keep mine in one of those plastic boxes for fishing jigs. Diamond testers can be had for around $100 if you deal with a lot of CZs you aren't sure of. But that investment can wait. If you're buying in lots or from GW it'll pay for itself quick.

Test kit = no questions no problem.

Great post & thread, belated congratulations on the saves, I really like that lighter also
