Nice assortment of neat finds! I don't know anything about meteorites but have found mysterious chunks like you have. HH :)

Welcome to the forum. Nice looking digs for the week.

If that is a meteorite, they are valuable. I've heard they can bring upwards of $50 to $65 per gram (yes, gram!). If you really think it's a meteorite, it's worth having it checked out by an expert. Try contacting a local college science department and see if they can authenticate it for you. If it is a meteorite, even one that small is worth a few bucks!! Good luck!!

Welcome Xlthunter to the forum ! Those are some nice finds. Looking forward to seeing more of your finds in the future. Good Luck !

Great finds Abe!!

Welcome to the forum!

Nana ;)

Cool finds! It's possible it is not a meteorite, I find several hot rocks very similar, usually made of pumic/volcanic rock and I also use an XLT. A meteor would be very very heavy. HH, Mike

"How much is a meteorite worth?

It depends on who owns it and what type of meteorite it is. There are also other factors such as how much was found, the story behind the meteorite, whether it hit anything and more. The value of a meteorite varies from $.10 a gram ($40.00 a pound) to $1000's a gram. The final price of a meteorite is determined by supply and demand...it's real value being whatever someone will pay for it."
