So, I’m out on my 1750’s permission yesterday with the home owner. We worked together a few years ago and he enjoys metal detecting and uses my ATpro when we hunt there. He has about a half acre field near the house so we decided to kind of grid it. I walked lines east-west and he did north-south. It was a beautiful chilly New England morning with just a light coating of frost as we started around 7:30am. Our paths crossed paths in the middle of the field about 1/3 the way up when he’s said “ hey, check this with your machine” so I did, nice solid 23 on the Nox at 8”. I said I would retrieve it because I had my shovel in my hand. So I did, and out pops a 1821 capped bust dime😳 I had dug a hole 18” away just before that. I spent the rest of the day throwing up in my mouth😒. Out of the three of us that hunt this property, I’m the only one without a silver coin, I did find a melted glob of silver that weighs as much as a dime but that doesn’t count in my book. I didn’t get a picture of the obverse (phone died, puked on it😔) anyway, I spent the rest of the day digging memorials, wheats, IHP’s and V nickels. I will be back bright and early next Saturday to get my silver coin. However, big congrats to him, he was genuinely excited because he only finds giant iron stuff.

I feel your pain Bob, but you are in for a great silver, I can feel it. At least someone in your "circle of friends" found the coin.
