Garrett CSI 250 (Because I thought it was a ACE 250)
Found this Civil War era overcoat button at an old homesite yesterday. There is no visible evidence that house set there, but our detectors found square nails, farming implements, and several New Club 12 gauge shells. Also a few British 303 casings and one 45-60. I also found a fork... I don't find coins, but I find plenty of silverware. Anyways this button is my oldest find yet and I'm pretty pumped about it.

I have never posted a picture on here so I hope this works. imagejpeg_2 (2).jpg

Cool find! :icon_thumleft: I like finding military related buttons. You can sometimes checkout the button back for Mfg. or Maker marks to get more info... buckshot

Yeah Buckshot, the makers mark on the back was the first thing I noticed. The front of the button was pretty dirty when I dug it, but the bottom was easy to read. Extra Quality was the maker. From what I have read, Extra Quality was typical.
