Favorite underwater metal detector for saltwater?

I have owned MG Midget and Austin Healey Sprite, have bought 2 Mazda Miatas in the last 3 years, sold my 2003 and bought 2006 when I found one with less than 14,000 miles on it...

I am surprised only bvi explorer mentioned the Fisher Pulse 8X. Definitely not the prettiest or the lightest but its a tank, simple and dependable. Good depth too on iron. I like the 8X best but I also have a Sand Shark that also served me very well.

What can the AQ1B do that the Xcal cannot ? Would they compliment each other ?

They can detect metal at greater distances. I was helping tech at Kellyco test one he was repairing, it was seeing a metal pole 7+ foot away... Not saying it sees gold ring that far but it detects large metal objects far away...

I have both the Fishers 8 x and the Aqua pulse 1B. 8X is a reliable unit bit does not come close to the 1 B in terns of depth on silver. I would not (and do not) use the 8x on any wreck site where I expect to find silver.
