E-Trac/X1 Probe, Whites 6000 XL pro, Ace 250,
I would like to get a feel of opinions of your favorite settings for the Ace 250, I got out today for some field testing on this machine, so I could soon give over to the wife for use, it is a coin magnet up to 4", once I determined what was false signaling and what was a coin, I was using the 9X12 Coil and I was surprised I didn't get quit the depth as my 6000 ProXL, turned down the sensitivity and it stabilized out a little better, when it hit solid 5 cent in both directions, it was a nickle.
Thanks, John

I usually hunt coin mode 99% of time. Since the ground is very damp now, I back off on my sensitivity to about half way. With experience, you can run it higher but it's the iffy signals that are difficult to interpret sometimes. When in doubt, dig it. Just like the foil/nickle range. Most of the time it is foil, but what if that one time you say, "I'm not digging that!" and it may be something good. The detector is as only good as it's user, but no detector is perfect. Dig the higher sounds always. The dull beeps are usually junk. But i do dig a lot of rusty nails that show up as pennies'dimes. That's the nature of the beast. Good luck and swing time is the only way you are going to learn. I've dug some nice, deep finds (usually 4-6 inches for the ace) but have dug some deeper relics too.this past year, but I have also dug some junk. If you get a funny, iffy signal keep working the target area in a circle. I've had targets that only beep one way, but they are consistent. The coin might be flat, on it's side or some other wierd angle. That's why I work the area in a circle. Then if you get a positive ID, dig it. HH Ron

I hunt in jewelry mode and dig it all until I'm exhausted. I usually only use the 9X12 on the beach. Sensitivity depends upon the area/circumstances.

I use jewelry mode and when i start detecting a new area I start with the sniper and then after ive coverd the area a time or two i go to the mid coil. When i feel its cleared out i switch to the 9 X 12 i think it is.

I use all of the different modes. I Use all metal initially then switch to coin if hunting for the same. In old parks I use all metal. With the ground wet I turn down the sensitivity. I have been using this machine for one year and one month. Have more than three hundred hours with it. I really like it. I have had low results on the sea beach due to black sand and salt. still like the machine. HHHH

I use my sniper coil just about every where because i hunt mostly in the city parks and neighborhood homesteads that have been torn down so its trash-a-plenty. My usual mode is kept on coin....but sometimes i use a custom mode. i notch out everything but nickel, dime and quarter. That way I hit those three and all the wheaties. that mode ignores all the new pennies and only gives me the older ones. I put my sensitivity about mid range depending on ground and trash conditions. The more trash the less sensitivity. But play with that mode and see what works out better for you.
