Got out to a favorite old park yesterday for the first time this year. Things started out quite slow as we were trying some different spots in the woods. First spot only pulled a couple of wheaties and the second spot had memorials and pull tabs 6" down. Not much to find. Headed out for more familiar ground and except for a 64 roosie wasn't finding much. My buddies were kicking my butt with Charles having 5 Indians and 2 silver and Paul had a nice Barber. Finished off the day at a spot everyone hunts all the time. Glad we did. Pulled a 1789 One Real up. I've found a bunch of half reales and a few 2 reales, but this is only my second 1 real. Ended up with 6 Indians and some misc. stuff, musket ball, flat buttons etc. Silver pin with '07 on it was cool. Not a bad first day at the old park.

We got stopped and asked for our permits. They said we were ok as long as we had our 2016 with us. They're aware the 2017's haven't gone out. Only my second Spanish silver out of the park.

Yep, I got stopped 4 times in 2016. Last year I asked Ms Myers up in The Permit Office if it was okay to continue to use the 2015 permit until the 2016 permit came out. She said "no good."
I guess you guys got lucky.

Looks like there was some activity on those grounds before it became a park. Congrats on the one real!
