Most of the meteorite hunters in the southwest use Minelab PI Machines, Fischer Gold Bug 2, Whites MXT to name some of the top. I personally use a Minelab GPX 5000 and Gold Bug 2.

Magnet on a the end of a cut down golf club works the best.
