My wife surprised me with a new detector for an early father's day gift an ace 250. i went to our back yard, which i had hit hard with my bounty hunter, to try it out. first place i dug, found this beauty only 2 inches deep. one of my kids lost my loupe, and i cant make out the back. can anyone here tell me what this may say, i googled scovill, but it seems like i found that some read steele something or other on it.
I am so stoked about this find, and of course its supposed to rain for a week now, so i will have to wait to hunt more . Thanks ! infantry.jpginfantry1.jpginfantry2.jpg

Very good condition button, maybe use some aluminum jelly to clean it up. Might well be some gilt remaining under the crud. Not sure how much rain you've been getting where you're at, but a higher moisture content in the soil will increase your detectors efficiency.

Wow, that button is nice and full, congrats! Here's a site that one of our members gave me a link to for Scoville button back marks for future reference.
