Texas!!
Detector(s) used
AT Pro
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
My old man and I have gotten into metal detecting again. It's been since I was a little kid and had zero patience. Decided to get back into the hunt to give us another hobby to enjoy together.
He's a harbor freight special guy. I'm a proud new owner of an at pro. Especially after today and it being my first hunt with it actually in a spot that had a glimmer of hope lol.

Will post our finds as we go along. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks.

Finally got of my hitch at work got back home early evening dead tired from working the past two days straight. Took an hour nap and headed out to meet my dad. He came straight from work and didn't even have his MD. But that's ok. He struck his first silver the other day when I was still gone at work. Which was a '54 Rosie.
So today it was all me at the realm of my new at pro. I'm impressed so far. Knowing this area has been hunted plenty and still struck silver. Just wandering around testing the area to see if we wanted to stay.

4 wheaties. Oldest 1917 D with a hole drilled in it.

4 silver dimes
'62 Rosie
2-63 D Rosie's! (One was my first ever silver.)
'43 D merc (my first merc) ))))

Lots of trash and pop tops. Mainly hit high tones after seeing tons of beaver tails. I was dead set on my first silver. Which I struck within ten minutes. Then the other three right before dark in a 20' area. All but one were a faint signal on the AT that would hardly even ID. I hit one with my 5x8 and the others with my stock dd. it seems to get them a bit better. And where I was hitting them wasn't as trashy.

A great day. Amazing first. Serious hunt. Can't wait to get back out there and find some more woohoo. Thanks for looking

Link back to see the pictures. I wanted to share it outside of texas sub forum as well. And will post here from now on. Thanks again. Happy hunting

Been out hunting all day long. Tons of trash. Lots of clad and we decided to hunt and old school. Hunted our butts of. Just about to give up and head to lunch and boom at pro screams at me with a 92 at 2-4"s. I'm thinking another dang can. Seems like all I can find today. Dug a small plug flipped the dirt out and something big and shiny pops out. My eye catches a piece of round plastic. Then I saw the massive roundness. Lol. I'm guessing it was someone's show and tell. And it was in a coin holder. Found it just off the sidewalk. My eyes bug out and my dad says I bet that kids still getting his butt whooped lol.

Here it is. 1945 walking liberty in amazing shape.

Thanks. It was quite a pleasant suprise. Only one of the day. My dad got tired of not finding much so we went to our clad sight and dug until dark and we were wore out. Will post some pictures tonight of our haul.

Awesome silver weekend you guys had! Those are some great looking coins!

Thanks bud. Not done yet. I can barely keep up with the old man. Even though I am carrying around about 20lbs of clad. Already filled pouch up a few times with trash. Lordy I'm tired.

I have one more sweet first find I'll post here in a little bit ;)

Last sweet find of the day. And my first.
1906 V nickel. :) woohoo

This is just today's haul of coins. Didn't feel like digging out all the glad from yesterday. I'm pretty sure our gas was covered. Lol.

What an awesome weekend it's been.
Saturday I found the half
Sunday we both found a merc. My dads first as mentioned.
My first b nickel
And got home washing coins and boom what I had thought was a wheat I had an Indian staring at me and didn't even know I found one. A 1900. It's been dinged pretty bad but still proud to call it my first. One year from being in the 1800's club :( lol

We literally hunted all stinking day sat and Sunday. But boy was it some fun memories. Sad my dad isn't hurting and I'm all beat up hurting at 26 lol

My haul with the pile of stinkin Lincoln's
My dads all laid out.

Was just talking to my dad on the phone. He's out this weekend doing some detecting without me. He hasn't been striking anything great lately just glad. Think he found a silver earring the other day not sure. Anyways got off the phone with him and next hole he dug this marked silver ring. I'm off next week and ready to get at it!!
