Hey guys,

Haven't been able to dig much lately, but the my wife finally kicked me into gear with an Xmas gift of the Deus HF 9 inch coil. Been swinging the HF elliptical for some time now, but was excited to see how the round coil compared. Headed out to a tried and true spot and was not disappointed. First up was a nice rev war era sling buckle.

Light toothpicking

Not far from the buckle I found a few other varieties along with a nice assortment of flat buttons

These silvers were missed among the iron on previous visits, as both were standing vertically in the plug. Rang in nicely with the pitch program - 1789 half real and a 179X 1 reale.

Oddly enough this monster shark tooth was on the surface nearby. This one predates Megaladon, a few pipes on the top as well

Also pulled a nice 1857 flying eagle and a victorian lady's sash buckle.

This one is probably my favorite of the finds, an early 1800s saw medallion manufactured by Eagle Works, in Sheffield, England around 1835. Would have been inlaid into the handle of a hand saw.

Here's how it would have looked

All in all, impressed with the round HF performance and should supplement the elliptical nicely among the iron. As always thanks for looking and good luck digging in 2019.

I never cease to be amazed at what you experienced detectorists pull from the ground.

I’m sure that sharks tooth has bit through it’s fair share of prehistoric meat.

Thanks lunchbag, when I started MD 5 years ago I never imagined the kinds of finds still waiting to be recovered. Still plenty left in the dirt

That’s a great way to end 2018.

Wow awesome finds! Congrats on everything! Love those reals! :icon_thumleft:

VMI Digger, Wow.....first thing first.......Tell the truth, were you really all that good last year to score a Deus for Christmas? Heck, I was good all year last year.....I didn't do nuthin', and I still got the shaft. Lol Congrat's to you all the way around on the Dues and on the great finds as well. That is some great Saved History. If you did this well first trip out, just imagine what will come your way next. You are Blessed to be able to hunt the S.C. Low Country, but I'm sure you already know that. Thanks for sharing your finds with us and Continued Success to you.

Wow, incredible stuff on the Spanish silver! Hard to believe how long those coins have been lost, huh? Good luck in 2019!

Excellent way to close out the year. Those Reales are awesome, great buckles, rally nice flying eagle... they seem to be pretty beat up in most cases, and the shark tooth is some nice icing on the cake... the fact that it was found on the surface is awesome to think about! Congrats!!!

Yes that's been my experience as well, recovered a few FEs and all are badly corroded. This one is definitely the nicest I've dug.

Thanks devldog, we are definitely blessed with incredibly historic dirt down here. Reached the age where any "gift" other than socks and underwear is nothing short of historic. Nice to add another coil to my deus arsenal

I love seeing the silver saves and you got a couple of beauties. Congrats on all the nice finds and good luck this year and always.

Thanks Hawk, salt water did a number on the 1R, but the 1789 came out great. Quite an interesting 1/2R given the depiction of Carlos III a year after he had died.

Killer killer hunt Jon! That along buckle alone would have made my year. That Spanish looks like a 1798 or 1799. Happy New Year bud and I hope you’re well
