I paid .99c for this at a thrift store today , to put in a box of treasures for my almost 2 yr old granddaughter . It has a mint like mirror finish , F G on the back, don,t know what that stands for (fantasy gold ?) or anything else about it for that matter couldn't even find a picture of it online. Anyone know where these came from, mint ? county fair ? franklin mint ? casino? any info on it would sure be great . weighs 1 oz. Thanks

The FG is on a real 1997 penny and it stands for Frank Gasparro an assistant engraver(and future head engraver) at the US mint. The only other thing I can add is those are some of the clearest pictures I have seen on this site. If all the items needing IDs were as sharp as your pictures it would make things a good bit easier. Especially on us old timers with used up eyes!

IMHO it was worth the .99 as a neat novelty. Indeed, you have nice, clear, and clean pics. :icon_thumright:
